Cornell Students Amend Wikipedia to Address Inequality

It’s been documented that Wikipedia’s articles about people are disproportionately about men compared to women.  On March 5 Cornell participated in a program to increase the number and accuracy of articles about women in the arts.

“Forty-four Cornellians revised and wrote Wikipedia articles on women and the arts at Saturday’s third annual Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

“The Wikimedia foundation has found that less than 10 percent of its contributors identify as female, according to the edit-a-thon website.”
